24-hour Milton read-a-thon

We were delighted to be part of an online 24-hour read-a-thon of all of Milton's works (a Miltonathon). Readings came from all around the world in the 24-hour period, including readings from students, academics, literary and history groups, heritage professionals, journalists, writers, celebrities and influencers. The event was organised by the charity Milton's Cottage, with the aim of bringing together different communities in celebrating the legacy of Milton's work, as well as promoting Milton's Cottage as the only surviving residence of Milton, and the only museum in the world dedicated to his life, times and works.

Great Ballard is linked to Milton via his biographer, former owner of Eartham House, William Hayley, and we were delighted that some of our senior pupils and staff were able to be part of this international event.
