Hello everyone, we are looking forward to having everyone back for another wonderful year at Great Ballard! At Great Ballard, we want to help people to feel encouraged by others and to make them more confident, kind and ambitious. We hope to support you in trying new things, using the student voice and in looking after one another, all while having fun and achieving great things. In the past year, we have seen a great number of impressive achievements in academic work, in sports, in the arts and in all other areas, and we are certain that this year will be just as successful.

As Heads of School, we are also looking forward to making sure that the move into GCSE life is as smooth as possible. To this end, we would like to organise a session every term in which we can talk about our own experiences of GCSEs, answer any questions people may have, give some advice and be honest about what real life at GCSE level is like. We hope that these sessions will give us a useful chance to support and give help to everyone as they look to the next phase of their education.

We are proud to be with you and look forward to seeing the wonderful achievements you will make. Let’s make this year one in which you work hard, play hard, and most importantly, be kind.

We would also like to oversee the Student Council meetings, by attending and helping to guide meetings throughout the year, making sure that everyone has the opportunity to have their voices heard. We want to make sure that the Student Council continues to be an effective way for the students to contribute to and improve life at Great Ballard.

We look forward to seeing you all soon,

Theo Willson and Georgi Giles
