Year 8 Enterprise Trip to London

News
December 1, 2022

The current Year 8s were the worthy winners of last year’s Enterprise Award.  To celebrate their achievements we set off to London to visit The Bank of England Museum and the Sky Garden at the top of the "walkie talkie" building.  As with all great adventures, the trip did not go fully to plan, but the students still had a fabulous day!  At the Bank of England museum they enjoyed feeling the weight of a ingot of gold, completed a quiz, learned about the Bank’s involvement with and profiting from the trading of enslaved people (which compliment their current topic in History), and of course also visited the museum shop!

We enjoyed several historical sites in London such as the London Bridge, HMS Belfast and the Shard and ended up at Hay’s Galleria where we witnessed professional, independent stall holders at a Christmas Fair (perfect market research for the pupils before their Christmas stalls on 26th November).  Other benefits of the trip were the students learning to navigate the London Underground and the streets of London.
