Our Explorers Nursery is a wonderful place for your child to begin their learning journey. Set within 30 acres of the South Downs National Park, this is a stunning educational environment. From 2½ years old children are cared for and educated in small classes by experienced and enthusiastic teachers. The consistent care provided by our friendly and professional team creates a safe haven for children to explore and find wonder in the world around them.
Nursery and Reception children enjoy their own bespoke spaces within the Early Years Hub. These open out onto the beautiful, enclosed Pre-Prep playground. Our Nursery is very much part of the whole school, enjoying access to our idyllic rural grounds and woodlands; the school vegetable garden; bespoke forest school area; cookery room; performance hall and sports pitches. We also enjoy a hot, home-cooked lunch in the school dining room every day served by our amazing chef, Darren.

We know that children are at their happiest and learn best when sparked by their own curiosity. When you visit us, you might find our children out searching for our familiar herd of deer, planting magic beans or writing postcards to pirates! They will also enjoy being part of the bigger school, using its facilities and receiving specialist teaching in PE, Music and our Go Outdoors programme.
Our Early Years staff work in partnership with families to provide the best start for our youngest learners. Teachers are always available to talk about your child’s progress and we share key highlights and learning goals through an online platform called Tapestry.
Our Nursery curriculum is overseen by the academic Heads of Department for the whole school giving pupils a real headstart in their learning journey as they transition into Reception. In this happy, nurturing and stimulating environment, we encourage every child to be curious, brave and independent, fully prepared for their next step.
As valued members of the GB family, Nursery children take part in many annual events including the Nativity and Pre-Prep Sports Day. This assists with transition and helps to build the self-assurance required for their move into Reception.
