On Monday 2/12/24, six Year 8 Go Beyond students participated in the IET Faraday Challenge Day. This day is a national competition for students across the country, consisting of the key aspects of project management, design, engineering, problem solving, communication, and teamwork. Great Ballard students excellently followed the brief, worked brilliantly as a team, and worked hard to make their idea a reality within the confines of the equipment and time provided. They proved able to budget their resources, plan their work, reflect on the challenges they faced and how to overcome them, and created a working prototype for their design to present to the groups and the IET challenge leader. I am extremely proud of them all and though they did not win the competition on this occasion, their attitude and hard work was commended by the Challenge leader and other school leaders. Well done to all who took part, and got an insight into the world of engineering and technology.
