GB Seniors Hit the Slopes in France

Over the Easter Holidays, a group of 44 Great Ballard seniors embarked on the school's first ski trip in recent years. Lead by our Head of Adventure, Tom Anderson, the group made their way to Auron, a lovely little French resort only two hours north of Nice. Despite the balmy weather and palm trees that greeted the group upon arrival, the forecast was kind and once up in the mountains, the team were lucky enough to have two powder days interspersed with sunny skies and good temperatures.

The staff were particularly impressed with everyone’s enthusiasm and energy; with five hours of ski lessons each day, followed by activities like swimming, exploring town and plenty of card games, students were still willing and keen to hit the slopes the next day. Of the forty-four attending, just over half had never skied before, but in just two days, all students were up and on chairlifts, with everyone having tackled at least blue runs by the end of their stay!

Despite this being a new trip for GB, the experience was excellent for all involved, and we are excited to say that Mr. Anderson is already planningthe next one for 2025.
