Pre-Prep

The Pre-Prep department prepares children for entry into the Main School at the age of 7 but our aim is to work with parents to give all pupils the best possible start to their school careers.

Small classes and individual attention by experienced, qualified teachers and teaching assistants ensure that children progress at their own pace.  There is an emphasis on English and Mathematical skills to provide a solid foundation for future learning. Independence and investigations are promoted through all areas of the curriculum in a practical and fun based environment in order to foster an enthusiasm for learning and an enquiring mind.

Children also enjoy creative activities such as painting, drama, poetry, stories, music and movement and games. Music, PE and Swimming are taken by specialist teachers. All children enjoy taking part in plays at Christmas along with music concerts and whole school assemblies during the year.
The classrooms are purpose-built and the secure, safe playground offers children wonderful opportunities for adventurous and creative play while the beautiful grounds at Great Ballard provide plenty of opportunity for children to explore their immediate environment under careful supervision.
