Boarding at 'Ballard'
Boarding has been a large part of school life ever since the school was founded in 1924, but the style of boarding today is tailored to a very different market. Many children now like to board for a couple of nights a week to fit in with their favourite activities/clubs.
While boarding today is very different from years gone by, now with children enjoying good food and comfortable surroundings, it still breeds a camaraderie, sense of community, independence, responsibility and tolerance of others. There is also an emphasis on good manners and maintaining a sense of humour. This experience has allowed our boarders to move on to senior school and later life, well equipped to make the most of the opportunities that life will bring them.
Boarding clubs are also on offer and recent examples have included Pamper, Rugby, Soccer, Eco, Campfire Cooking, Super Soaker Manhunt, Swimming, Cinema, Bowling, Charades, Sardines, Crafty Cooking and Drama with all the children having lots of fun!
