We believe that all of our pupils are stars and that every single child has the potential for excellence through quality education. Pupils have been awarded prestigious scholarships for academic, all-round performance, sports and the creative arts. Virtually every pupil over the past three decades has secured a place at his or her chosen school, as well as subsequent entry to leading universities (Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and Edinburgh).

As a prep school, we are well connected with senior schools to ensure our children get the best start in their education and continue to succeed and flourish after they leave us here at Great Ballard.

Pupils move on to a variety of senior schools when they leave us at age 13 and many maintain links with the school and staff. The Head and parents work together with each individual to identify the most suitable senior school.

We hold regular senior school networking events, as well as offering individual support to students and parents to help them choose the right senior school that suits their strengths and goals.

Our recent Senior Schools Fair event at the school was well attended by over 17 local and regional senior schools and parents, offering a friendly and relaxed opportunity for pupils and parents to find out more about their next step in education.

There have been several notable student alumni since the school started in 1924, including some who have been awarded OBEs, are well known actors, have held senior positions in the Armed Forces and in government around the world. We also had a well known Children's Laureate work at the school.

Experiences at school often shape the career choices of children later in life. At Great Ballard we love to see children flourish, knowing we played our part to Inspire, Discover and Achieve.
