Boarding has been a large part of school life ever since the school was founded in 1924. We understand that flexibility is key and offer wraparound care, full, weekly and flexi-boarding options, as well as academic and extra-curricular provision to support each individual in their learning programme.
Each of our seven boarding rooms here at Great Ballard has a beautiful view out onto our grounds, with children often reporting deer sightings when they wake up and look out of the window each morning. Our home cooked and plentiful meals offer a delicious, balanced diet for children and our friendly staff and teachers ensure that boarding at Great Ballard is very much a 'home from home' experience. Apart from the experienced resident staff, who are spread around the boarding accommodation and are available overnight if need be, many other teaching staff are involved with providing activities and looking after the boarders.
We pride ourselves on our flexible boarding options that can be tailored to suit the needs of parents.
As well as our boarding rooms, there is a TV room and games room which helps to create a home from home in our comfortable boarding accommodation. Boarders also have access to our main facilities in the evening which include our stunning grounds, astro, tennis courts and covered swimming pool.
Boarding at Great Ballard gives our pupils a sense of independence that prepares them to move on to senior school and later life. We have plenty of after school boarding clubs on offer. Recent examples include:
Plenty for the children to do and to have lots of fun!
The school does not arrange guardians.
