We feel it’s important to include parents in the event planning of the school and invite parents to join our committee ‘Friends of Great Ballard’ or FoGB for short.
FoGB are responsible for putting on many of our marvellous annual events including the Christmas Fair and the Summer Fete. These events help to reinforce a sense of community that we consider paramount to our school and all money raised goes towards benefitting the school, such as funding new equipment and resources, as well as supporting charities such as Mary’s Meals and Canine Partners.
At Great Ballard we create a family environment in everything we do.
The parents in the FoGB committee also organise events such as Valentine’s Discos, Magic Shows, Street Dance classes and much more. Resources provided by FoGB have included art and technology resources, ballet equipment and much more.
We understand that not all of our busy parents have the time to become a committee member and FoGB is very much a voluntary arrangement rather than a necessity. Many of our committee members have been volunteering for years, arranging extracurricular events that benefit both their children and our school.
We also have a ‘Parent Reps’ committee where our parents meet on a termly basis to share ideas and feedback.
