There are a number of private schools in West Sussex. Each is unique. How do you know if Great Ballard is right for you? We think the only way to assess what we're all about is to come and see us: you'll soon start to appreciate how much we care about each and every one of our children and their individual needs. Our classes are small so we can give everyone the attention they deserve. You'll see that above all else we want our boys and girls to enjoy their childhood at school, and whilst we're a traditional prep school with traditional values, we absolutely insist on providing state-of-the-art facilities and technology.
Meanwhile, we hope these pages give you an insight into our school. A little bit about our approach: we share a commitment to providing a broad-based, dynamic and fun education in all areas of school life. Great Ballard is a place where a love of learning is nurtured so our children thrive and find their strengths in academia, art, drama, music or sport.
And then there's the setting. We still have to pinch ourselves when we look at where we are. The school is nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park with extensive grounds where our children play and learn about nature. Our woodlands and grounds provide a unique 'extended classroom' for all. It's also the perfect place for our pupils to take on the National Trust's '50 Things to do before You're 113/4'! Ask us about our great outside learning opportunities in our own grounds.
Great Ballard School is an Independent Co-educational IAPS Day and Boarding School for children aged from 2 to 13. It is set in the South Downs National Park situated in Eartham, just off the A27, between Chichester and Arundel in West Sussex. It's a safe, beautiful, fun, caring and inspiring place for children to learn and grow. We provide full 'wrap around care' for children whose families have busy lives. This includes flexible boarding, subsidised bus runs and a breakfast club. We are financially viable and have an excellent educational standard.
If you'd like to know more, please just get in touch. Better still, why not come and see for yourself? A warm welcome is always assured.
As one of our parents put it: 'the school has the atmosphere of one big family and that's what we and our children love.'
