Pre-Prep department prepares children for entry into the Main School at the age
of 7 but our aim is to work with parents
to give all pupils the best possible start to their school careers.
Small classes and individual attention by experienced, qualified teachers ensure that children progress at their own pace. Children follow a broad, balanced and carefully structured curriculum. Reading, writing, mathematics, science and topic work all form important elements, reflecting the requirements of the National Curriculum.
Children also enjoy creative activities such as painting, drama, poetry, stories, music and movement and games. Music and PE are taken by specialist teachers. All children enjoy taking part in a play at Christmas and a music concert in the Summer Term.
The classrooms are purpose-built and we have access to all the excellent facilities of the Main School. The secure, safe playground offers children wonderful opportunities for adventurous and creative play and the beautiful grounds at Great Ballard provide plenty of opportunity for children to explore their immediate environment under careful supervision. Outings aimed at extending children's knowledge of the world around them are a regular feature.
